Gateway Project

Intro

The main idea behind the myNetSlum gateway project, is to design a basic proof of concept interface, that shows payment gateway integration by a 3rd party can be simple, elegant & efficient.

I have seen too many merchants and their development staff overly complicate their payment gateway integration.

Many developers have no idea how to properly utilize a gateway remotely, even for the most simplistic things.

Merchants get easily confused, when presented with too many options.

Finally, when looking at many gateway provided interfaces, many have not streamlined their processes.

All of this gives the impression that gateway usage & its GUI are simply an afterthought to a given business.

I've always had the belief that a great deal of existing integration and usage related problems, could be resolved by creating a slimmed down interface, streamlined and tailored to a handful of core business scenarios.

By removing or hiding away some of the lesser used advanced features, unless explicitly required by the merchant, and enhancing the overall flow of basic processes, one could easily leverage the power of any payment gateway service.

Instead of rewriting an existing gateway interface, why not just write a small interface to use the gateway's existing API functions remotely, to replicate the necessary actions needed. Thus producing an aesthetically pleasing interface, that is easily understood and does what it's supposed to do.

At least this is my opinion...
